Privacy Policy
Beatfold was designed around a simple idea: your creative work belongs to you. Beatfold does not use its own analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we avoid unnecessary data collection. Most of your data never leaves your device. (Our host, IONOS, processes some anonymized access data for basic server logs and web statistics — see below.)
Beatfold is built local-first. Your sessions, beats, contacts, opportunities and notes are stored only in your own browser or device and never leave your machine unless you explicitly export or share them.
What we collect
We keep no workspace content and no user accounts on our servers. Beatfold itself has no accounts, no advertising and no cloud sync, and uses no analytics tools of its own, so the beats, contacts, sessions and notes you create stay on your device — we cannot see, access or recover them. When you simply visit this website, technical access data is processed by our host (server logs and IONOS's basic WebAnalytics — see below); this is not linked to your workspace.
Local storage
The app keeps your workspace data in your browser's localStorage so it persists between visits. You can export a backup or erase everything at any time from your profile. Clearing your browser data also removes it.
This website
This website serves all fonts, scripts and images from our own server — no external content-delivery networks, web-font services or third-party trackers are embedded. We run no analytics tools of our own and set no tracking or advertising cookies; the only server-side processing is by our host, IONOS (described below).
Cookies
We use a single functional cookie, bf-theme, to remember your light/dark preference across pages. The cookie expires after one year. The same preference may also be stored in your browser's local storage, where it remains until you change it or clear your browser data. It contains no personal data and is not used for tracking or profiling.
Hosting
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, on servers located in Germany (EU). IONOS acts as our processor under a data-processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) and processes data only to host and deliver the site.
Server logs & web statistics (IONOS)
IONOS collects technical access data such as the requested page, browser and device information, time of access and an anonymized IP address. According to IONOS, this visitor data is anonymized upon collection and retained for 8 weeks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
We embed no analytics or tracking scripts of our own, and this data is not used for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking. Further details are available in IONOS's own privacy information.
Contact
If you email us at support@beatfold.app, we use your name, email address and message solely to handle and answer your enquiry — for example to help with a problem, a bug, or your feedback. We never use it for advertising, marketing, newsletters or profiling, and we never sell it or pass it on to third parties for such purposes. The legal basis is the handling of your request and our legitimate interest in responding to it (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). We keep this correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up, and delete it afterwards unless we are legally required to retain it. Our email is handled by our host, IONOS SE (see “Hosting” above), which processes messages solely to transmit them to us.
Your rights
Because we do not hold personal data about you on our side, there is normally nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete — the data on your device is fully under your control. Where we do process personal data (for example an email you send us), you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability under the GDPR. To exercise them, contact the controller below.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, www.dsb.gv.at).
Age
Beatfold is intended for users aged 16 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example when features or legal requirements change. The current version always lives on this page, with the “Last updated” date shown at the top.

Terms of Service
By using Beatfold you agree to these terms.
The product
Beatfold is a workspace for music producers. It is currently free and in early access (v0.3.0). Early Access software may contain bugs, incomplete features and compatibility issues, and features may change between versions.
Price & license
Beatfold is free to use — everything it offers today is free of charge and will stay free. We may add optional paid features in the future, but the current functionality remains free and nothing is concretely planned yet. Your license is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable. See the License section for details.
Availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Beatfold (or parts of it) at any time without prior notice.
Your data & backups
You are responsible for your own content and for keeping backups. Beatfold stores data locally on your device; we cannot restore it for you. We strongly recommend creating regular backups of your workspace.
Acceptable use
Don't resell, redistribute, sublicense or reverse-engineer the app, and don't use it for unlawful purposes.
No warranty & liability
Beatfold is early-access software and may contain errors, incomplete features or compatibility issues. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your workspace data. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law. Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page. Austrian law applies, place of jurisdiction Linz, to the extent legally permissible for consumers.

Your content
Anything you create with Beatfold is yours. We claim no rights over your music, sessions or data.
Termination
This license ends automatically if you breach these terms; on termination you must stop using the app.
Open Source & Credits
Beatfold is proprietary software, but it stands on the shoulders of some excellent open work. Required copyright notices and applicable licence information are provided on our Third-Party Notices page.
Fonts
The Beatfold website — landing page and all content pages — uses Google Sans Flex by Google, bundled and served from our own server and licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The main workspace (app) uses your device's system fonts. The full font licence and copyright notice are reproduced in the Third-Party Notices.
Icons
Static interface icons are based on the open-source Lucide icon set (lucide.dev), embedded as inline SVG and served from our own server. Lucide is licensed under the ISC License, with Feather-derived portions licensed under the MIT License — the copyright and permission notices are reproduced in the Third-Party Notices.
Animated icons
Animated icons are provided by Lordicon (lordicon.com) and rendered with the bundled Lordicon web component (lordicon.bundle.js), served from our own server. The icons were downloaded and are used under a Lordicon PRO license. The player bundles the lottie-web renderer (MIT). Full details are in the Third-Party Notices.
Background images
Background and landscape artwork is sourced from Unsplash (unsplash.com) and used under the Unsplash License.
JavaScript
The app's own interface logic is hand-written vanilla JavaScript with no front-end framework. The one third-party script we bundle and serve from our own server is the Lordicon player (lordicon.bundle.js), used to render the animated icons; it includes a Lottie animation renderer. No external CDNs, third-party analytics scripts or trackers are loaded.
